Frames & Framing: Custom: Portfolio
Two watercolors by early twentieth century California master Percy Gray
(1869 - 1952). The top one, showing Mount Tamalpais, was done in
1918, and other one of eucalyptus in the fog is dated 1922. Each
one is about 16" x 20". Framed close in #308.2 ("Michigan")
- 2-5/8" in stained quartersawn white oak with gilt oak ogee
slips. The quiet scoop profile provides the right amount of perspective
and grace, and the fine reeding gives definition to the setting and is
in keeping with the fine line work of the paintings. The ogee profile
of the gilt slips celebrates the gentle curves of the
tree forms and soft, gradated light. Learn
