A beautiful watercolor by Northern Californian, Lorenzo Latimer (1857 - 1941) titled "Large Oak Tree, Grammar School Grounds, Ukiah, California" (n.d.). Painting size, 12" x 18". Framed in 2-3/4" Century Series slope profile #238 in quartersawn white oak (Van Dyke stain). (See frame sample below.) The frame was selected to focus the eye on the quiet subject, with the slightest bit of detail — a fine bead toward the sight edge and narrow cove at the back — to harmonize with the fine rendering in the picture.
